GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH. Patrick Henry spoke this famous line in a speech before the Virginia Provincial Convention in 1775. Henry was urging that the Virginia militia be armed for defense of the colony against England.

England was choking the life out of the colonies. England was taxing everything that moved and imposing more taxes each day. They were taking away everyone's rights and freedoms. It was taxation without representation.

I just returned from a trip to Williamsburg, Virginia. As I, along with thousands walked through this restored city, and listened to the "locals" simulating the everyday life of the colonies, I was awestruck.

The motto of colonial Williamsburg is: "That the future may learn from the past." Let me see. We are some 200 years from then. Loss of rights and freedoms, taxation without representation, Gestapo tactics by the IRS, yes sir! Our Government sure learned from the past.

I am no Patrick Henry, I am not even a John F. Kennedy, but I can tell you something. If we don't take up a pen and defend our rights, what those colonist suffered will be mild compared to what is happening to us. VOTE people!

The first people we must elect are those that want to do away with the Internal Revenue Service. That one agency is doing more damage to this country than any other. They don't even care that they are a corrupt, inefficient organization.

A new customer called me, and the IRS had levied his income. He was an Owner/Operator. Now his company would not dispatch him, because they said they could not advance him any money, the IRS was to get it all. WRONG! I called the IRS agent; after some heated discussion and some intense education on my part I got him to say that he would cancel the levee so the man could make money to pay his bills. I asked for a two-month period to get his taxes in order and to give him time to earn enough to pay me and to start a payment plan to the IRS.

I thought that the IRS man would be a man of his word. WRONG! I went on vacation thinking that I would get this problem taken care of when I got back. BUT, when I got back, I got a phone call from Mr. Owner/Operator. So, I call him, Mr. IRS Agent. First he denied that he had ever talked to me. Second we went through the same education process as before.

I told him that if my trucker could not work how was he going to pay me, and set up a payment plan to the IRS. Mr. Honest Abe Agent said that he didn't care, the trucker must pay his taxes. After some more discussion we finally agreed to let the levee go and get the taxes in 30 days.

There are several things wrong with this problem. Sure the trucker has not paid his back taxes nor has he filed the last two years. Now that he wants to get his affairs in order, is the IRS going to help him? This is not an isolated case. This is the norm. Many truckers are behind in paying or filing their taxes. Is it normal that the IRS agents lie to me, or you? Yes! And that is a fact. Is the IRS supposed to be helpful, friendly, and courteous? You bet. But are they? NO!

It looks to me like if my organization was being considered for disbandment, I would be more aggressive in helping those that keep me in business. No so with the IRS. Let's get the pen out.

GOOD NEWS! Sound like a Sunday school theme? Not really, but a tax saving plan. If you are an Owner Operator, married, and your wife helps you in your business, I have "good news" about a tax reduction plan you may qualify for this year!

It is a system developed within the frame work of Revenue Ruling 71-588 to simplify the compliance and accounting procedures associated with Internal Revenue Code, Section 105. By simply using this plan and employing your spouse under a special class of employment, known as family employment, authorized by the IRS in 1954, you will qualify for TAX DEDUCTIBLE benefits.

A month ago I told you about this program and that I was doing some research and studying of this program. Well here it is.

In the past you were allowed to deduct as an adjustment to your income, 25% of your health insurance premiums. With this plan, the SOLE PROPRIETOR may take advantage of the 100% tax deductibility of medical expenses including Health Insurance Premiums, Uninsured Medical, Dental and Vision care expenses. Other deductible benefits available: Term Life ($50,000 max) and Disability income Insurance Premiums for Employee (spouse). This plan is not insurance. You may participate in the plan without purchasing additional insurance coverage or changing existing coverage.

With this plan you can be claimed on your Schedule C, just like fuel, or repairs. The average savings in taxes are $1,800.

First let me put in a disclaimer. This is a plan, not insurance. I make my money hopefully by you coming to me to get your taxes done, and/or your accounting too. Call write or me and I will send you complete information on how you can get this plan and start saving your tax dollars too. 1-800-328-2937 or 1-800-32TAXES. Click here to send for more info online.

There is still time this year to get the plan started, and deduct all medical expenses paid this year.

HAPPY MOTORING AND I WILL...SEE YOU AT THE TOP
